Different (and Weird) MP3 Player Designs

The competition among the makers of MP3 players is quite stiff. In addition to the acknowledged giants in the industry, there are so many small assemblers of the device all over the world who can sell their products at dirt-cheap prices. Owing to this, manufacturers are continually looking for ways to differentiate their products from those of their competitors. This can come in terms of the technical specifications of their products to improve sound output, pricing, or external design. Indeed, the latter approach has been employed by a few companies.

Following are some of the ideas of the innovators. Take a close look at them and, whether or not they have the potential to succeed, you be the judge.

Cross MP3 Player

It is not only priests and nuns who wear crucifixes or crosses for pendants. Plenty of lay people wear them, perhaps to display their faith or to remind themselves of it. The Cross MP3 Player takes this practice a step further. It includes an MP3 player that can play religious songs. Some versions are even pre-loaded with New Testament audio. Of course, if you just like wearing a cross pendant but are not overly religious, you can upload your favorite jazz or rock music to the MP3 player.

Pez MP3 Player

Pez dispensers are an icon. So why not use them as models for an MP3 player. This is just what Lincoln West Studios did. Their MP3 players look like real Pez dispensers, at least from two sides. And the plastic heads of the MP3 players are designed to be interchangeable with those of the real dispensers. A 512MB Samsung chip is inside the device instead of candy, and it comes with ear bud headphones and a USB cable for connection with your PC.

Dada MP3 Player Shoes

That’s not a typo. Dada is a pair of shoes that you wear on your feet and use for walking or running. What makes Dada different from the rest of its fellow shoes, is the MP3 player embedded somewhere in the sole of one shoe. Controls are on its tongue, while a speaker is mounted on its side. If you think the other guys at the gym would rather work out in silence or listen to their own music, you can use the wireless headphones that come with the shoe, or, rather, the MP3 player.

MP3 Player Watch

Watches these days do more than just tell time. They monitor heart rates, tell you how fast you are running, pinpoint your exact position on the planet, and they play your favorite music. Some watches have headphones that connect to the watch with wires, but these are rather inconvenient. Others use Bluetooth technology to send audio signals from the watch to a wireless headphone.
