The storage and playing of music files was revolutionized by MP3 players and smart phones that can accommodate hundreds and even thousands of songs. Typically, MP3 players do not have their own speaker systems, requiring, instead, headphones or outside speakers. While smart phones may have their own, they are usually so tiny that you can hardly expect quality sound from them. Thus, they, too, need outside speakers. When driving in your car, however, you can use its sound system to listen to your music files. You only need a simple device to bridge the two together, such as a Sunvalley FM Transmitter and Car Charger.

The FM transmitter reads the audio signal from your MP3 player or smart phone and sends it to the car radio via any unused FM frequency between 88.1 to 107.9. The radio, in turn, plays this signal over the car speaker system. If you use an iPhone, you can also make or receive calls without taking your hands off the steering wheel, listening to your caller through the car speakers.

The device consists of a dock designed to hold MP3 players and smart phones of different sizes. It is lined with soft silicone material to keep your player from getting scratched or nicked. The dock contains the transmitter and has an LED display that indicates the frequency in use. Attached to it is a flexible goose-pipe that can be bent as necessary to adapt to your player and the dashboard of the car. At the end of the pipe is a plug for the cigarette lighter socket where it draws power for the transmitter.

All iPhone models are supported, including iPhone 4G and 3Gs. It is also compatible with iPods of all generations, as well as most MP3players.

In addition to playing your songs, the Sunvalley FM Transmitter and Car Charger also incorporates a Mini 5-Pin Jack for charging your mobile phone, GPS, and MP3 players.
